Jonanjima Seaside Park is a beach park located on the edge of Jonanjima, Ota-city, Tokyo.
It is at the beautiful sandy beach with a view of Tokyo Harbor, and is fully equipped with camping facilities, barbecues, and even dog runs.
Since it has the only auto-camping site in the metropolitan area, it is full of people who enjoy camping every season of the year. Easily accessible and very popular also with tourists.
About Jonanjima Seaside Park
Jonanjima is an artificial island built in the 1940s and incorporated into Ota Ward in 1979. It was developed as a park for the enjoyment of ward residents and opened in 1991. It is the only park in Tokyo with an artificial beach for tidal fishing and the only one in Tokyo with an auto-camping site, covering an area of approximately 200,000 square meters, 75,000 square meters of which is water area. Because of its proximity to Haneda Airport, the park is a popular photo spot for visitors to get a close-up view of airplanes taking off and landing.
How to enjoy Jonanjima Seaside Park
Enjoy barbecue with everything you need
Since there are permanent hearths, you can easily enjoy barbecue. Gridirons, iron plates, and tongs are available for rent, and barbecue ingredients packages are also on sale, so you can enjoy barbecue empty-handed and so it is good also for beginners.
If you are to enjoy barbecue only, we recommend the Second camping site. Dedicated to day-camping, it is relatively easy to make reservations.
The Second camping site
There are 18 sites, and each site has a capacity of about 8 people.
The equipment is as follows:
・ 1 table (1.2m x 1.2m)
・ 4 benches (1.2m’s wide)
・ 1 outdoor hearth
・ 2 cooking buildings
Open from 11:00 to 17:00 by reservation only.
All open-air: attention to the rain.
The auto-camping site that is rare in Tokyo
Accommodation is not available in winter, but you can enjoy it calmly until 21:00.
Let’s enjoy a leisurely day-camping with the bonfire from daytime. Since direct fire is prohibited, please use an outdoor fire pot or a bonfire stand. It is a rare place where you can have a bonfire and barbecue in Tokyo.
Since it is popular, the lottery rate is high and it is hard to win. Let’s try for weekdays.

There are 20 sites, and each site has a capacity of about 15 people.

・ 3 cooking buildings
・ 2 fire circles
・ 1 toilet (common use with the auto-camping site)

There are 22 lots available only for families.

Tsubasa beach
Tsubasa Beach is the third largest sandy beach in Tokyo Harbor.
It is prohibited to swim or fish, but you can enjoy the landscapes and the children can play at the beach. Also, since it faces Haneda Airport and the shipping route, you can see the arrivals and departures of airplanes and ships up close.
Everyone can enter for free. However, please note that the open/closing time varies depending on the season.
Tsubasa dog run
At Tsubasa Dog Run, you can free your dogs from their lead and let them play.
Open from 7:00 to 21:00, admission free.
You can enjoy the view of Tokyo Bay, see the ships and planes, so it is fun also for people. It is a good idea to take a photo with your dogs in this superb view. In addition, the free area is as large as 2500 m2 and the small dog priority area is 300 m2.
With this size, your dogs will be able to run around as much as they want.
